Kristin Antonsen

Kristin Antonsen is a ceramist with a workshop at Kulturfabrikken in Mandal. Here, she has been shaping clay through modelling and slab techniques since 2006.

Her works often have a humorous or fantastical theme, often blurring the lines between functional design and sculptural expression. She typically works with stoneware clay, which she colours with oxides and glazes, often adding details of gold leaf. Her formal language is taut and pointed, while the titles of her works are often playful and based on linguistic quirks or interpersonal relationships.
